I hope everyone is enjoying 4.2 Slush's score method and miner earnings part 1. Please post any comments or questions you have and I'll answer them as best I can.
I hope to have 50BTC.com added to the weekly pool statistics soon. I can only access timestamps and blocks, so actual hashrate has to be estimated on the assumption that luck index = 0 and round length / D = 1.0, but not including one of the larger pools at all is worse than a little inaccuracy.
Average hashrate:

Average hashrate:
Average hashrate = Total shares / Total round time
Luck index:
log(% of network blocks solved / % of network hashrate)
Luck index = 0 is average luck
Luck index > 0 is good luck
Luck index < 0 is poor luck
Weekly average round length as a fraction of difficulty:
Average number of shares submitted per round / difficulty
If your pool isn't here and you'd like it to be, comment with a link to a block history with round lengths and either solve times to the nearest second or a timestamp.
- Deepbit's hashrate and percentage of network hashrate both dropped this week.
- Ozcoin, Mt. Red, Bitminter and Itzod again increased their proportion of the network hashrate.
- P2Pool's luck index and normalised shares per round continue to be better than average, now for the last five weeks (although only slightly better than average this week).
Donations help give me the time to investigate pools and write posts. If you enjoy or find them helpful, please consider a small bitcoin donation:
