My aim for these posts is to help miners get a better idea of the general statistics of the pools at which they might want to mine. Below are selected pools' statistics averaged over as close to a week as possible. the statistics include:
Average hashrate = Total shares / Total round time
Luck index:log(Percentage of network blocks solved / Percentage of network hashrate)
Luck index = 0 is average luckLuck index > 0 is good luckLuck index < 0 is poor luck
Weekly average round length as a fraction of difficulty:Average number of shares submitted per round / difficultyIf your pool isn't here and you'd like it to be, leave a comment with a link to a block history with round lengths and either solve times to the nearest second or a timestamp.
Highlights:
- Maxbtc received a lot more hashes than usual and is almost overtaking Eligius.
- Larger than expected round lengths at DeepBit and Slush means holders of MEI.DEEPBIT.B and MEI.SLUSH.B are getting compensated for poorer than usual earnings.
- Note that Deepbit has larger than expected round lengths but also better than expected luck index. This is because for its percentage of the network hashrate, Deepbit found more blocks than expected.
